I am currently the Director for Transportation and Movement Services in support of global Peacekeeping operations of the United Nations. The work involves movement of approx 250,000 troops from home countries to areas of operations along with their military and logistics equipment; deploying and sustaining the motor transport fleet of the United nations to include personal mobility vehicles/ logistics vehicles such as forklifts, cargo trucks, airfield equipment/ engineer plant and equipment; and so on. Besides tha above, my organisation is also responsible for internal UN air operations - comprises of approx 250 aircraft on long term charter to include fixed wings/ rotory wings and military assets such as utility and attack helicopters.Prior to the current assignment, I was Chief of Logistics at the UN Logistics Base in Brindisi.My early work life was in the Indian Army where I commanded an Infantry Battalion in operations and was the head of global peacekeeping operations for the Indian Army before I joined the UN on their staff.My wife and son complete my family. My son is now progressing his carrer with Societe General in Investment Banking. Personally I enjoy fishing and play golf whenever I can.

Interacted with UNHQ and legislative bodies (ACABQ, Fifth Committee, C 34; etc)to defend the Mission position for resources and mandated activities.Darfur obtains harsh terrain, security challenges and deep routed inter-tribal rivalries. The ability to function and deliver support in such an environment is a complex task. Have great pride in my Team that delivered very satisfactory support within the rules and regulations of the United Nations.
