As the designation suggests any new implementation or enhancement in IGiS Desktop application is my responsibility. With decade of experience in GIS and Image Processing i am capable in implementation of any complex image processing module along with many geo-processing operations.I am involved in mentoring and guiding the Core development team at SGL which consists of 50+ developers and managers. I also take care of looking after regular release of the product. My responsibilities also include helping presales team in understand the feasibility requirements of RFP and helping GIS Services team in solving the product queries from the client. Appart from this having understanding of the the current software architecture and fitting the requirements with the best possible results is one of my key resposibilities which I can proudly say that I am expert in achieving the same.

With SGL building its brand locally as well as globally, IGiS had to be upgraded to the growing use of 64 bit operating system and use of Unicode character set. Therefore the IGiS V11 was released with 64bit Unicode for which i was involved in make sure all the binaries were upgraded from visual studio2012 to visual studio2015 and then after to visual studio2017. With IGiS V11 new features like photogrammetry processing, LIDAR data processing and IGiS 3D were bundled for which i was involved from the start till the delivery process. All this also included Testing and Evaluation by SAC ISRO scientists which is part of the standard process for any new IGiS release. During this phase JIRA for work allocation and planning was introduced, along came Bitbucket for all the code repository as these two are very well integrated with each other. Before this period all the source code was manually maintained with regular backups by me. All sprint planning and code review before merge was my responsibility. Adoption of JIRA and Bitbucket helped in reducing the overall time in development process and made most of the manual work easy.

As a senior software developer my roles were not limited to this designation, as the only senior developer i was involved in full product life cycle of the IGiS Desktop Application. From FRS, SRS, SDD to STD i looked after almost every detail of the development process. I was also involved in the training and development process of new employee. When it comes to training apart from C++ and MFC i have a very long track record of making my mentees comfortable in understanding development process at SGL and also making them familiar in using the IGiS SDK for day to day development.During this period my experience with client interaction also increased which helped me in capturing, understanding and providing the exact requirements. I was involved in projects from project instantiation till the project delivery to few specific DRDO clients.

This period was the toughest time which tested my patience as the organisation was going through a tough phase in respect to finances. This was the period; I put trust in the organisation and took up the ownership of maintaining IGiS desktop product. My responsibilities included but not limited to GUI development, customising COM controls used for the product development, and maintaining and updating all the repositories used for the product. Along with this code migration from visual studio2010 to visual studio2012 was done. I also improved my skills and learned RoboHelp which is user to generate help documents of IGiS and its modules.We also developed new product IGiS server and IGiS publisher along with improving IGiS V2. As ISRO is the product partner of Scanpoint Geomatics Ltd, I had the pleasure of interacting with ISRO scientists for the development process which increased my knowledge and communication skills with respect to Image Processing and GIS as a subject.The organisation also renewed its CMMI-3 certification for which i had the opportunity to be an Appraisal Team Members(ATM). SGL sponsored my training for ATM which helped me get more insight into the Generic practices and specific goals.

As a trainee my responsibilities were to upgrade the image processing modules developed in VB6 to Visual Studio 2010. The modules were mainly Dialog based application written in c++ using Microsoft Fundamental classes for Graphical user interface. Common Controls and MFC Classes i used but not limited to are CButton, CComboBox, CEdit, CListCtrl, CListBox CScrollBar, CStatic, CStatusBarCtrl and CProgressCtrl. Having used IGiS SDK for reading/writing image and processing the image data to generate required result in a multi threaded architectural design, my responsibilities also include debugging and solving the module crash mainly caused due to the usage of dynamically allocated memory. Abstraction, Encapsulation, Inheritance and Polymorphism are few OOPS concepts which i had used during this time frame.IGiS V2 included SAR image processing modules, these modules where developed with the help from Space Application Centre ISRO Ahmedabad as ISRO is the product partner of Scanpoint Geomatics Ltd. The scientists from ISRO would provide formulas and make us understand how the pixels are to be transformed for a better visualisation and can be used for varied scientific purposes. As Scanpoint Geomatics Ltd is a ISO 9001 and CMMI-3 organisation, I learned many QMS standards which we followed during the development process.
