In August’99 I joined Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad as a SYSTEM ANALYST. I am looking after the Campus-wide network of ISM. The Campus Network consists of around 6000 nodes. Different departments/sections are connected to Computer Centre through Fiber Optic Cable. I am maintaining & securing various services provided by Computer Centre to users throughout the campus. Computer Centre is having 1Gbps internet Bandwidth from BSNL and 500 Mbps Bandwidth from AirTel. I have successfully deployed various services like DNS, DHCP, Squid, Apache, Postfix, Iptables etc using FOSS (Free and Open Source Software). I am guiding students in their network related projects & also involved in conducting short courses.I am also playing very active role in the evaluation of various IT products/services which need to be procured for the institution.

In April’94, I left PCS & incorporated “RAJ COMPUTERS” at Dhanbad. I headed “RAJ COMPUTERS” till July’99. RAJ COMPUTERS was involved in providing complete IT solution, be it Computer Training, Networking, Hardware/Software sell and support, Data Processing etc. Under the banner of “RAJ COMPUTERS”, I served the following organizations: ISM, Dhanbad, DRM Office, Dhanbad, Telephone Exchange (E-10B), Dhanbad, RSVM, Dhanbad, Union Bank of India, Dhanbad, Bank of India (Regional Branch), DhanbadI was also involved in academic activities as a Part Time Counselor of IGNOU for conducting MCA/BCA courses. I taught Operating Systems, Computer Organization and Computer Networks to IGNOU students for seven years.

I joined PCS Data Products Ltd., N. Delhi (Regional office, North) in JUL’91 as a Hardware Engineer. I was responsible for installation & maintenance of networks, based on Data General’s Supermini viz MV-7800, MV-4000 (AOS/VS based), AviiON (DG UX based). I was also installing & maintaining Line Printers, Tape Drives, Terminals, Modems etc. During my stay with PCS, I provided best support to customers like- BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), MMTC (Metal & Mineral Trading Corporation), OCC (Oil Coordination Committee), TITAN, ICICI, MCS, HERO HONDA, BHEL etc.
