We were working on Global Cardiovascular Innovation Center (the State of Ohio’s Third Frontier Project) grant to company CardioCeption, LLC (Founder: WK Jones) and this company is a spin out from University of Cincinnati.We were involved in the pre-clinical and clinical work in various cardiovascular conditions. My work was mainly focused toward Translational Research on the development of novel form of remote cardioprotection, which represents a novel therapeutic strategy for cardioprotection with great potential for clinical utility. Gained extensive experience on membrane protein over-expression studies:• Used genetic engineering approaches to construct a fusion protein between the highly hydrophobic pyrophosphatase and GFP to facilitate purification and crystallization, and this fusion proteins may use for accurate pH measurement on inside and outside of membranes, to overcome steric problem by using pH indicators or pH electrodes close to membranes
