• In one of the most deprived and ethnically diverse boroughs in the country, I led on the public health portfolio, including campaign planning, managing reactive and proactive media relation social media.. Key highlights:
• Devising and running three major communications-led, behaviour-change public health campaigns – seeing a 300% increase in the number of people signing up to cycle training.
• Being a core member of the strategic team for delivering ‘The Borough Plan’ – the vision of how Brent Council will work with other public services in the Borough (the Police, the NHS, the voluntary sector) to deliver.
• Running a busy press office to promote and defend the reputation of Brent Council; working closely with the strategic director to craft statements to defend our reputation; regularly getting stories in the Evening.
• Re-designing key landing pages and driving traffic to them. Drove up unique page views by 400%.
• Organising several high-profile events e.g White Ribbon Day for domestic violence, International Women’s Day and ensuring good media coverage of the events.

• First Click was a digital literacy campaign that encouraged the estimated 9.2 million people in the UK who do not use the internet to take the first steps to get online.Main responsibilities:
• Working with our main partners - the Post Office, Age UK and libraries – to devise campaign ideas and ensure consistency of key messages
• Recruiting and working with key ambassadors including Sir Terry Wogan and Gloria Hunniford
• Preparing the Director General’s speech on the topic for the launch event
• Pitching First Click across all BBC channels and ensuring pan BBC coverage on launch day
