I am a driven, pragmatic and an entrepreneurial leader with a passion to transform lives and make a difference. Throughout my career, my success has been achieved by identifying local issues, both economic and social, and turning them into strategic opportunities and programmes. I inspire senior leaders from business, public sector and community organisations to work together for the common good. I have diverse experience of working for and with a range of organisations in the field of improving social mobility and access to opportunities, responsible business agenda, place-based regeneration and professional development for teachers and leaders. My passion for creating positive change is supported by my extensive experience of managing change and leading multi-functional teams through complex agenda and relationship management at every level of the organisation and across sectors. At Ambition Institute, I spearheaded the national partnership strategy which has enabled growth in training and supporting teachers and school leaders from 6,000 educators to over 23,000 educators in two years. I also conceived and developed the first ever ground breaking place based initiative and first of its kind for Ambition to forge a strategic partnership with Liverpool City Council to improve education attainment and see 400 teachers and 80 schools’ benefit from intensive training and support for three years. Perhaps my biggest legacy is pioneering a strategic Education programme called "Business Class" which has helped change the lives of over 230,000 young people and framed business engagement in 545 secondary schools across the UK for nearly a decade. The success of this programme was independently valuated by Warwick University who found that “Business Class” creates benefits for the whole school not just pupils including better leadership and governance and financial savings. I have significant experience in leading people and culture, relationship management, fundraising, financial management, strategy development, private sector engagement and complex stakeholder engagement from my work at Business in the Community (BITC) and Ambition Institute in addition to my non exec board level experience.
