Team Vishwakarma is college society which enables ongoing engineering students to develop a particular set of skills to design an off road vehicle on their own. In the mentioned period, the team worked towards designing and manufacturing of a robust ATV ( All Terrain Vehicle ) to compete in the Mahindra BAJA SAE INDIA which is an international event. Being the Vice President, my role is to lead, guide, direct and evaluate the work of my subordinates. In PowerTrain Department, how the power is transmitted from engine to the wheels is discussed. I along with the department members performed various calculations to design a customised transmission box, type of drive shaft like fixed or floating along with the joints like universal or constant velocity in accordance with the power required for particular track, the grade at which the vehicle will be going to ascend and restrictions to the maximum speed and the same incorporating into the ATV after the fabrication. I also learned the tuning of the CVT for a particular dynamic event which covers the suspension track, manoeuvre and the endurance run.

The work expected from me was to completely indulge in the department tasks which majorly focuses on the steering and handling of the vehicle along with the braking management. In the mentioned period, the team worked towards designing and manufacturing of a robust ATV ( All Terrain Vehicle ) to compete in the Mahindra BAJA SAE INDIA which is an international event. I was given the role to decide the specifications of rims and tyres which include load carrying capacity, speed index, offset, aspect ratio. I was also part of the sub-team whose role was to determine the steering geometry like Ackerman and steering mechanism like rack and pinion according to the conditions/terrains of the dynamic events which covers the suspension track, manoeuvre and the endurance run. I also learned bleeding of the brakes using a syringe.
