I was an apprentice for two years at Dresdner Bank AG (which was later on bought and merged with Commerzbank AG) which entailed 50% participating in hands-on practical daily work and 50% school attendance in order to learn the theoretical basics of banking. The German Banking Apprenticeship sets a very good foundation with regards to banking knowledge. Voluntarily I participated in extra curricula which meant additional workload.
