My main interest is in programming. The tools I use for work are: ►MariaDB for general database needs►SQL Anywhere (our ERP-system uses this database)►Nushell for ad-hoc data analytics►Rust-flavored Polars for deployed data analytics►Rust for the back-end layer (Diesel and Rocket)►Elm for web applications (elm-ui, elm-land etc)►Vega-Lite for interactive data visualizations embedded in Elm apps►Ubuntu as server platform►Git for version control►Helix for text editingI have a solid base in logical thinking due to my studies in higher mathematics. This helps me develop faster and get more correct code as a result. I am always interested in learning more, both deepening my knowledge in my current tools and acquiring new ones to my repertoire.I have dabbled a bit in the R and Elixir programming languages in the past, but now my go-to-languages are Elm and Rust, which both have really impressed me with their solid type systems and run-time guarantees. The tooling and package-manager for Rust is top-tier and joy to work with.As can be deduced from my list of favored tools above, I prefer to do most of my work on the command line instead of in a desktop IDE like VS Code. I just find it more flexible and efficient, especially with Nushell and all the modern replacements for classic CLI-tools, like ripgrep instead of grep.I'm a big proponent for open source software. There are more eyes on the code bases which is beneficial both for security and stability. Also if I have a pressing issue, I can just fix it myself and open a PR! Technologies I'm eager to try but haven't found a solid job-related use-case for yet:►Language embeddings with a vector database (e.g. Qdrant) for semantic search►LLM-powered web applications►Roapi for a flexible multi-source query layer►Graph databases
