Was assigned to Internal Affairs in 2000 as the STG Coordinator. I have attended three NMGTF Conventions, I have attended training on Hispanic gangs, I worked with the Northwest HIDTA (High Intense Drug Traffic Area) in gathering information from with in the prison. Attended Northwest HIDTA meetings. I was assigned to the Drug Interdiction Team in 2003. I attended the Indiana Department of Corrections Internal Affairs Conference in 2004. During which I also received a certificate from Sirchie on NARK II drug identification.I was promoted to Internal Affairs Officer IV in 2005. I was heavily involved in the STG activity while at Indiana State Prison and was still part of the STG Task Force. I have worked four homicides within the prison system, three of which involved gang members and groups. Several sexual assaults and numerous assaults and batteries. As an Internal Affairs Officer all cases completed that contained Misdemeanors and/or Felonies were filed directly to the LaPorte County Prosecutors Office for their review.

Skills Include:-To supervise both Staff and Offenders-To insure a safe environment for both Staff and Offender-Offender accountability; to keep track of offenders movement and whereabouts.

Was awarded the Officer of the Quarter in 1997 then made Correctional Sergeant in 1998.Attended annual training in Physical Protection, Blood Borne Pathogen Safety, and hand held pepper spray, Given by the Department of Corrections. As well as CPR, First Aid (Adult/Child) and the AED. Also was a member of the Quick Response Team which consisted of training in the SL 6, Multiple Baton Gas Gun. Protect-o-Jet CS Gas Gun and Electric Stun Device.
