Responsibilities:• Took lead in designing new arthropod zoo complex to include a year‐round arthropod zoo - the BUGarium, seasonal native and exotic butterfly exhibit, and outdoor arthropod exhibits with associated landscaping. BUGarium opened Fall 2016 • Oversaw operation of Butterfly Pavilion and quarantine lab• Managed rearing/quarantine laboratory for BUGarium exhibit• Dealt with all USDA‐mandated permit issues• Designed and oversaw maintenance of Dragonfly Sanctuary Pond, Pollination Garden, G-scale Railroad Garden and related educational materials• Developed training materials and taught zookeepers and education volunteers about arthropod biology and husbandry• Media (TV, radio and print) spokesman for arthropod‐related programming• Co-designed and implemented development of 5 acre, naturalistic Rio Grande bosque exhibit, The Cottonwood Gallery, including educational programming• I contributed numerous records for & compiled lists of all vertebrate and notable invertebrate species seen on Botanic Garden grounds• Responded to all manner of inquiries from the public and media about insects and their relatives
