Volunteer work:Democrats - do door-to-door canvassing before November elections. Was Fairfax County Volunteer of the year in 2008 for 88 day of canvassing I did in 2007. CASA - I'm a Court Appointed Special Advocate. I am assigned one case of a child or children from one family (age 0 to 18) who were abused and/or neglected by their birth parents and thus now under the control of the Fairfax Department of Family Services. The child is usually in foster care. My job is to learn everything about the child and his/her situation and write a report to the court recommending, in my judgement, the best course of action for the child or children.
