• Responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of Orange and Rockland's bulk power system.
• Responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the daily operation for the Energy Control Center (ECC) during normal and emergency conditions.
• Ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Energy Control Center.
• Assisting in the planning, design, and implementation of the Control Center renovation.
• Ensures the Energy Control Center personnel are compliant with company policy, internal Operating Instructions, and industry standards including NERC Reliability Standards, PSC, NPCC, RFC requirements and NYS.
• Oversees system emergencies with ECC staff by injecting operational oversight, technical, and procedural knowledge.

• Responsible for all aspects of the daily operation of Orange and Rockland's bulk power system.
• Acting as shift supervisor of the O&R Energy Control Center overseeing all duties of the System Operator, Distribution Operator and Dispatchers.
• Perform studies and approve scheduled jobs to insure that the removal of a facility does not jeopardize system security.
• Directing switching procedures needed to insure the safety of personnel engaged in the maintenance of transmission, distribution, generation and substation facilities in a manner that does not jeopardize system.
• Commit load pocket units to meet system contingencies.
• Safely initiate the effective restoration of facilities following system disturbances using sound judgment, adhering to Corporate and Department policies and procedures. Directing emergency measures of load shedding.

• Approved or disapproved all transmission switching; decide when, where, and how to connect/disconnect primary transmission equipment either by supervisory control or through field direction
• Operate the transmission networks to ensure proper voltage levels and line loadings.
• Coordinate operation of substation distribution equipment and restoration of customers in cooperation with the Distribution Supervisors

• Prepare, coordinate, schedule and oversee all daily distribution switching.
• Work in conjunction with System Operations, Substation, Overhead, Underground, and New Business to plan and write distribution switching orders.
• Coordinate projects thru divisional engineers and supervisors to ensure jobs are switched correctly, efficiently, and safely while meeting various departmental needs.
