In my role as a GIS Technician with TREKK Design Group, I analyze, process and perform QA/QC on sewer data collected by our field teams. Drawing on my diverse experience in GIS, computer science, geology and liberal arts, I help our clients better understand the condition of their systems, giving them the information to make smart decisions to improve lives in their communities.

I instructed weekly laboratory classes for two different 100 level general education courses. I assisted in teaching basic principles of weather and climate using Microsoft Excel. I also assisted in teaching basic concepts of physical geography using lecture and hands on presentations. I have redesigned laboratory exercises involving topographic maps, soils, and aerial photo interpretation to enhance the learning experience of students with hands-on demonstrations. I also instructed new teaching assistant’s on course details and teaching techniques.

Worked on the National Geothermal Data System (NGDS) Project. Converting geothermal data to electronic form. Digitizeing geophysical well logs into Logarithmic ASCII (LAS) files using NeuraLog. Took initiative to learn the NeuraLog software becoming the local expert for a tool that is critical to generate heat flow maps and trained others on its usage. Entering various geologic data relating to oil and gas wells, water wells, geologic map, and documents and references, into standardized database ’s templates using Microsoft Excel. Geo-referencing and entering well data using ArcGIS to make shape files using ArcMap to produce an internal resource for a water well database for the state of Virginia. Perform quality assurance by reviewing involving multiple datasets generated by other team members. This included ensuring compliance with the standardized template in order for searches from any state in the National Geothermal Data System to be consistent. Use ArcGIS, NeuraLog ®, Microsoft ® Excel to produce multiple derivative maps or datasets. Digitize temperature logs using NeruaLog to provide inputs to produce multiple heat flow derivative maps using an iterative process within a large team.
