Implementing stereoscopic vision on an autonomous submarine platform for use in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), obstacle avoidance, and object detection/recognition

• Designing a perception system for use on an autonomous open-water vehicle• Integrating LiDAR, and stereo camera depth estimation for state estimation and object recognition• Implementing GPU (CUDA) processing for perception algorithms

• Implemented HAAR Cascade Classifier for buoy recognition • Developed KNN/SVM classifier for optical character recognition along with partially supervised training system

• Configured and deployed Linux, ROS, DD-WRT and other back-end software for the University of Florida's 2013 NASA Robotic Mining Competition entry.
