The Import Compliance Manager is responsible for Origin, Classification and Valuation accuracy.

All trade matters and filings. Woodward designs and manufactures energy control solutions for reciprocating engine, civilian and military aircraft, marine and industrial turbines used for defense, power generation, power distribution, aerospace, transportation and process industry markets. Understands the provisions and requirements of the various export control statutes and regulations, and the criminal liability, civil liability and administrative penalties for violating the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations; and 4. Has the independent authority to: (i) Enquire into any aspect of a proposed export or temporary import by the applicant, and (ii) Verify the legality of the transaction and the accuracy of the information to be submitted; and (iii) Refuse to sign any license application or other request for approval without prejudice or other adverse recourse."

Member of Corporate Regulatory Staff 2001-2005Ensured Import/Export Regulatory best practices implementation and adherence for all Americas operations. Following Nunn-Wolfowitz export management system guidelines, implemented the standard HP processes and procedures needed to maintain compliance with all trade regulations and agencies. Audited worldwide preparations and audit readiness for all import/export functions and operations. Monitored (enforced implementation) of required corrective action plans to satisfactory completion. Instituted Customs planning- a process for reverse engineering products designed to ensure best classification, most favorable trade treatment, regulatory adherence and lowest duties permissible. Customs planning has been a key to HP successes in the graphics/display markets-especially for new products. Developed the process that enabled closely-linked relational data bases to extract and claim $25 Million in duty drawback for the computer and printer product lines.
