My research interest is to develop translational disease intervention strategies for important human and emerging viruses. My labs investigate the mechanisms of immunity and disease pathogenesis associated with viral infection to better understand the conceptual and functional differences between innate and adaptive immune responses that provide the foundation necessary to facilitate vaccine and antiviral therapeutic protocols. I am trained in the field of viral immunity. I currently perform vaccine and therapeutic countermeasures for emerging viral diseases at the Animal Health Research Center at the University of Georgia which is BSL2/BSL3 biocontainment facility.
