Concentrate practice in insurance defense matters, both first and third party litigation. Draft legal pleadings and documentation. Participate in all aspects of litigation including discovery and trial. Actively prepare for and conduct pre-trial judicial hearings, mediations, and special set/evidentiary hearings in both Federal and State Courts

Member of the Litigation Department and Insurance Defense Practice Groups. Represent clients in defending first party insurance disputes involving policy claims for damage to real property – arising from natural catastrophes like hurricanes or from premises owner’s negligence.

Draft orders and reports and recommendations. Observe and analyze trial proceedings as well as pre and post-trial hearings. Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda summarizing arguments and issues in pending cases. Attend settlement conferences. Organize documents in case files as well as assist with administrative work.

Served as co-counsel on seven jury trials. Trial responsibilities included opening statement, cross-examination, and assisting in voir dire. Handled a caseload of twenty clients. Participated in various calendars including bonds, first appearance, arraignment, jails, judicial review and probation violation. Assisted with inventory requests, jury selection, and client interviews. Researched and drafted various memoranda.

Researched, drafted and argued various motions including motion to suppress, motion to dismiss, and motion to reduce bond. Assisted attorneys on various courtroom calendars, including plea negotiations. Took depositions in preparation for trial. Offenses included burglary, trafficking, possession of contraband with intent to sell.
