Architected an Enterprise wide plan to codify the environment, migrating to an Immutable Infrastructure methodology resolving the challenges of OS upgrades and patching. Worked with the Security team to tighten the security roles and permissions for the environment based on the immutable infrastructure image. Identified AWS resources that were underutilized (or redundant) and worked to reduce the ongoing expenses by over 20%. Designed and created an AWS infrastructure to accommodate 100+ servers that were being used by various teams to run simulations. Collaborated with stakeholders across IT and Engineering to architect an AWS environment which would allow the information to flow between NASA and ULA using AWS resources

Worked with multiple departments to identify the current processes for software deployment so that an evaluation of configuration management tools could occur. As a Contractor and Consultant, I pioneered the company’s entry in to VMware. I additionally monitored the performance of the system and executed upgrades that enhanced system functionality. An accomplishment included:Converted, consolidated, and upgraded multiple infrastructure components for DIRECTV. Strategically executed plans and slashed the average turnaround for projects by 60 days.

As the Senior Systems Engineer, I acted as the Project Manager and subject matter expert for the installation and maintenance of a variety of projects. Some achievements included:♦ Launched successful projects and earned two STARR (Spectrum of Top Achievement Recognition and Rewards) Awards from County Commissioners. ♦ Maintained a 24/7 on-call support schedule for computer systems, help desk, and other staff. Reacted quickly and slashed the amount of critical downtime by 85%.♦ Evaluated the need for physical servers and reduced the total amount of servers from 67 to five.
