Python developer on the ML team at Drooms, developing and adding features to a backend service called the "spaCy Text Tagger", which identified & extracted "tags" (keywords) from text using a rule-based approach and the sPaCy NLP library. The service was designed by my team lead, NLP researcher Johannes Leveling. I boosted the performance and throughput of the service & reduced its memory footprint. I also worked closely with the ML engineers on the team to add new features & assisted in integrating a neural net trained NLP model into the service to boost precision and recall.

My responsibilities included assessing and documenting the existing software architecture, improving the software design by introducing clear layers, implementing design patterns to achieve clean code, introducing unit and automated integration tests to the project, and writing the warehouse management functionality of iCMS.In mid-2021 we decided to re-think iCMS and re-create it as 3 separate applications: Fleet Manager, Intralogistics, and Warehousing. I worked on the team developing the Fleet Manager, which is responsible for communicating with AGVs, creating and publishing drive orders, and tracking their state.

Backend Developer at Syskron GmbH working as part of the scrum team that re-implemented the Downtime Management module of the MES system in 2016/2017. The new design was database-centric (SQL Server) and featured user-definable KPI formulas as well as customizable KPI models and calculation pipelines. In 2018/2019 our team became responsible for the creation and maintenance of the new cross-platform Data Acquisition Service running under Linux and Windows, implemented in C# / .NET Core. We created adapters for various industrial protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, and Siemens S7, among others. In 2020 I became part of the newly formed ReadyKit team that implemented the Machine Message Processor in Python, which classified machine mesages and pushed them into the Syskron Share2Act Cloud using AWS IoT GreenGrass.
