In January 2014, we added teacher and school leadership sourcing to the business and our expert HR team now offers comprehensive human development services to schools. Education is, above all, a people business.In 2015, we also added BBD International as a sister company to BBD Education, to help UK schools open branches overseas and to provide consultancy services for investors in Higher Education globally. In the last two years we have added procurement, digital marketing, teacher training, school improvement and project management experts to the team. We have now started schools in the GCC region, Cairo and Singapore with new projects taking us to China, Indonesia and Canada. These schools have included IB provision, UK and US curricula/qualifications, Arab and Indian curricula, a special school, a digital school, premium-price schools and 'affordables'.In 2018, we started to manage schools for clients.

Worked for investors and publishers looking at Middle Eastern and global opportunities, for governments seeking reform, and for schools seeking to make their provision 'better, broader and deeper'.

Educational lead for GEMS, the largest provider of private international schools in the world. Oversee performance of 60-100 schools serving roughly 100,000 students (more than 120 nationalities) - broadly, one half are private schools and the other half are state schools where we provide management services. Schools implement US, English, International Baccalaureate, Arab, Indian and other curricula, at fee points varying from 'premium plus' to the remarkably affordable (less than 2000 US dollars per annum). Committed to building schools of excellence that serve their communities around the world.

The lead civil service position within the Blair Government, driving to raise standards in English schools. Responsible for policy advice to the Secretary of State and for implementing schools policy across the 22000 primary, secondary and special schools in England. Budget: £34 billion per annum. Led programme to establish Academies under Lord Adonis. Introduced new levels of pupil performance and data systems to public policy arena. In October 2008, seconded to Cabinet Office and Treasury to support Prime Minister's Delivery Unit in building data systems across whole spectrum of public sector services (including education, health, transport, social welfare and crime).

Merged TTA with the National Remodelling Team to create a single organisation responsible for the training and development of the 1 million strong school workforce.

Agency had responsibility in England for teacher recruitment and for initial teacher training. Took over when recruitment was dangerously low, at around 28000 teacher per year and lifted it to approx 40000 p.a. by 2004. Initial training quality rose aswell, with Ofsted's independent judgement in 2004 that our providers were producing the "best teachers ever". Budget: £750m per annum.

Worked with Sir Michael Barber in The Standards and Effectiveness Unit. Responsible for pupil performance systems, for launching the Standards Site, for introducing the 'Excellence in Cities' programme and for value added analysis. Took responsibility under the Rt Hon Charles Clarke for the National Grid for Learning and for ICT development in schools.

Executive Board-level position. Particular responsibility for information and services to Local Authorities and schools. Oversaw research and consultancy into school improvement and effectiveness, school leadership, value added analysis of school and pupil performance, parental perceptions of education, class size, and educational impact of ICT.
