We have significant strengths in related areas, such as electromagnetics, optics, antennas, space science, biological sciences, earth and atmospheric sciences, signal and image processing, optimization theory, algorithm development, materials and structures, and big data. Applications are widespread, and include defense, homeland security, transportation security, port security, law enforcement, nondestructive testing, biomedical imaging, geophysical sensing, atmospheric sensing, RFID, networking, and IoT. By bringing together faculty expertise and engendering collaboration in diverse areas, we will be able to perform truly multi- and interdisciplinary research at a grand scale. The final goal is to make the center self-sufficient and operating on external membership fees alone.Center member organizations will benefit by having direct access to the extensive research proposed to be carried out within the center. In addition, members can also participate in collaborative research to advance their individual mission priorities. Other advantages include the availability of student interns, summer faculty fellows, and potential hires from a student pool with the requisite expertise in radar and related technologies.Approximately 25-30 faculty and 40-50 graduate students are expected to participate when the Center is fully functional. If interested, please contact the Center Director Professor Ram Narayanan at ram@engr.psu.edu Show less
