As Chief Architect of Business Intelligence Unit within central R&D organization, is responsible forarchitecture, engineering management, technical direction of Business intelligence and Big Data Analytics platform at Huawei.• Architected a Huawei Business Intelligence Platform around Pentaho open-source Business Intelligence, with many performance and functional enhancements. Led a global engineering team across US, China and India to design and implement performance enhancements to Mondrian ROLAP engine and ETL engine in Pentaho based on Business Intelligence requirements of Huawei customers.• Lead many research projects including an In-Memory multi-dimensional OLAP server within Huawei Business Intelligence Platform, a scale-out multi-dimensional OLAP server built on top of open-source big data technologies Hadoop/HBase, a distributed data-mining engine integrated into Huawei BI Platform, a multi-dimensional OLAP storage format integrated with Apache Spark and Spark SQL for accelerated query performance, a declarative visualization framework for visualizing data and interacting with data.• Architected In-Memory multi-dimensional OLAP engine with state-of-art database technologies instorage, compression, indexing and query optimization.• Responsible for gathering Business Intelligence requirements from current and prospective customers both internal and external to Huawei.• Collaborating with Delivery teams to integrate technologies developed in the research projects into Huawei communcation/networking products.• Identify intellectual property based on technology research projects carried out and manage its protection.• Responsible for researching the technology and product trends within Business Intelligence by attending conferences, meeting members from big data open-source communities, partners.
