I’ve joined LinkedIn to collaborate and share expertise with the community by offering informal networking advice, guidance and contacts across all facets of executive leadership, strategic planning, business development and international business operations. Topics of interest include how to: execute metallurgy, R&D, and product manufacturing, conducting critical testing and failure analysis; drive innovative products, processes, and procedures by leveraging processes, microstructure-properties, and performance correlations; and maximize operating margin and net income by creating sustainable revenue pipelines, leveraging research and development with economic considerations and the measured adoption of disruptive technologies. The major focus is Open Die forging and Heat Treatment apart from Additive manufacturing and other metallurgical technologies.Projects we can discuss: serving as a trusted confidante to executives, organizational partners, management teams and staff while maintaining confidentiality of proprietary projects. Inspires enthusiasm in the scientific process; identifying hidden opportunities and the development of innovative solutions by inviting collaboration with key stakeholders and industry experts; and cultivate high performing talent by vetting, recruiting, and mentoring high caliber technical individuals into high performing contributors. Please feel free to reach out to me directly via LinkedIn mail or send me an email at cramachandra@gmail.com.

Vice President Of TechnologyWeldaloy Specialty Forgings 2017 - 2020Warren, Mi, UsWhen I began my tenure, I had the privilege of leading the company into the aerospace forgings arena by incorporating forged parts in several exotic alloy grades, Ti alloys, superalloys, specialty steels, alongside copper alloys and aluminum, improving margins dramatically! Advancing outside of regular industrial legacy alloys was on the horizon. Risks were imminent but I was able to proficiently guide the company into new technologies, forgings and exotic materials. I introduced rocket nozzle part concepts to obtain a 3D printing provisional patent in the disruptive technology area. Enthusiasm grew as we gained momentum and embarked upon new product developments, which unveiled a need for experienced metallurgists. I convinced the board to grant approvals for the recruitment, hiring, mentoring and training of four fresh young university metallurgists. They were sincere, eager, hungry to learn, and delivered excellent results under proper training and guidance. This was a great success. Within two years, we implemented a “New Products and Processes Development” unit, developed 26 new forgings in exotic aerospace alloys, and increased revenues to $10+ million dollars. We slated a new state-of-the art ring roller and metallurgical laboratory equipment into the pipeline for future procurement and installation. I was honored to work alongside and develop a team of talented professionals by transforming growth and expansion in the specialty forgings space. The company is poised for a forecasted $5+ million continued annual growth and generate new business within this new stream of aerospace, aeroplane fuselage, engine and astrospace rocket technology arena. -
Technical Manager - Metallurgy & QualityUniversal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc 2014 - 2017Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, UsLed a team of six to develop conversion of Ingots to bingots/billets processes for steels, titanium alloys, and nickel base alloys using SMS’s radial forge SMX650 (13MN) machine and excellent HT facilities; conversion of up to 13,000 pounds and diameters in the range 16” up to 26” RD to 18” down to 4” RD/OCTs/RCS/square or rectangles. Reported to General Manager in Ohio and on dotted to Chief Technology Officer in Pennsylvania. Increased revenue by approximately $20 million by process invention, making it possible to convert larger ingots (30 to 34” RD) to 10” RD billets using a conventional open die 2,000 ton press and authoring 40+ various ingot to billet conversion processes using SMX650 radial forge machine. -
