Dr. Ramachandra Murthy Kondubhatla is a former advisor on Public Policy to Government of Andhra Pradesh & Senior Journalist from Hyderabad, Telangana. He is known for his pro-people, pro-Dalit and pro-underdog social philosophy. He played an important role in preparing ground for the talks between Maoists and the government of AP in 2004 working in close coordination with Sankaran, IAS officer, and others in the group of concerned citizens. He also played a stellar role in creating deeper understanding of the issues in the wake of the UPA decision on 9 December 2009 to create separate State of Telangana. ‘Andhra Pradesh Dasa-Disha’, a path-breaking debate on Centre's decision, conducted in every district headquarters of the undivided AP, was largely responsible in the peaceful manner in which the division was made possible. Dr. Murthy was involved in empowering Dalits. His role in getting the SC ST Sub-Plan Bill passed by the AP Assembly was that of a catalyst. He built a number of media institutions and worked with commitment and innovation to strengthen democratic institutions. He is known as a person who practises pacifist, pro-Dalit and pro-Adivasi, objective and constructive politics. He is a liberal democrat who believes in peaceful transformation and inclusive growth.
