System vulnerabilities identified at beginning of month can be tested and patched with a 2-week turnaround time. Identified, created producers and procured SSL Certs for multiple internal Rackspace applications and customers that relied on SHA-1 and distrusted Symantec CA. This allowed us to update over 400 SSL certs within 2 months. Identified and created RFCs to remove private keys and automate SSL procurement from vendors with goal of least amount of manual work. This allowed operational team members to make over 45 applications to stay PCI compliant and drop procurement of SSLs from 1 week to 3 days. Created remediation scripts for infrastructure alerts using bash and python scripts enabling Zabbix monitoring services to auto-remediate. This dropped alert rates by over 70% during on-call hours. Perform root cause analysis and facilitate findings to application engineers and stake holders for major outages. Collaborated with application engineers for system and application performance tuning.
