Raman is a seasoned global professional leader with over 22 years of experience in managing businesses across continents. Having lived in 4 countries and worked in functions spanning from manufacturing, engineering, marketing, sales, and general management, he has to his credit managing P&L, Strategic Business Planning, Business Turnaround, Greenfield Project, Supply Chain, Key Account Development and Dealer Management.Most recently Raman served as VP & GM for Manitowoc Cranes in Asia-Pacific and was directly responsible for managing all aspects of business in the region with manufacturing facilities in China and India. Manitowoc is world’s leading manufacturer of lifting solutions equipment for heavy construction, residential and commercial construction, energy-related, wind farm, infrastructure, duty-cycle with global sales and manufacturing operations with annual revenue of $2B. Prior to leading Asia Pacific for Manitowoc, Raman was managing Manitowoc India and was instrumental in turning business around during a difficult economic cycle and led the company to the market leadership position. He also successfully negotiated 2 labor wage contracts and played key role in developing India strategy for expansion and future growth. With Manitowoc, Raman has also managed the roles of Marketing Director for Asia and Global Product Manager for Crawler cranes. Prior to Manitowoc, Raman held various positions with increasing responsibilities in engineering, marketing and industrial sales with NSK Corporation, world’s leading bearing manufacturer for automotive and industrial applications in Ann Arbor, MI. Raman holds MS in Mechanical/Manufacturing engineering from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces followed by an M.B.A. from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Having lived and worked in Japan for over 4 years Raman is fluent in conversational, reading , writing Japanese, and enjoys traveling, reading, and golfing.
