During my 9 month stint, I was trained in and performed the following roles:1) Basic administration - Generating delivery orders - Generating invoices- Attending to and assisting telephone enquiries 2) Purchasing (local & overseas) - Standardized quality, quantity and measurement of products by drafting and signing a Memorandum of Understanding with local suppliers.- Sourced and concluded purchasing agreements that resulted in an overall cost reduction of 23%. Visited and worked with manufacturers in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India and China.3) Human Resource- Interviewed and recruited suitable candidates for the positions of Sales Executive and Administrative Assistant.- Trained candidates for their respective roles and ensured a smooth transition. - Drafted and enforced "Scope of Duties" for all employees of the firm.- Drafted "Terms & Conditions of Employment' for all employees of the firm and ensured compliance with the Employment Act.4) Sales (local & overseas)- Brought in local sales of approximately SGD 30K per month.- Procured export orders from Malaysia, Australia and Seychelles.- Visited the above-listed countries and concluded long-term export agreements with the customers.5) Management- Managed and led the sales department during the absence of the Assistant Manager. - Reviewed sales reports and introduced a new commission structure to achieve company objectives.- Set sales targets and worked with the sales department to achieve them.- Planned and successfully led a business diversification venture in Malaysia.

Joined the firm as a Junior Legal Secretary but was converted to a full-time intern upon completion of the assigned tasks. Reported to the Legal Secretary and received training from the firm's Partner in the following areas:1) Legal research2) Drafting of legal letters and documents3) Proof-reading 4) Taking minutes of meetings5) Handling clients6) The art of negotiation 7) Thinking critically and creativelyAttended court with the Partner during trials and learnt court-room procedures and observed good advocacy skills and attempted to emulate them. Learnt the importance of punctuality and preparation in anything one does.
