Following my intermediate education in Science, I aspired to serve the nation by joining the Indian Air Force. Although I was deemed medically unfit due to vision requirements, this setback redirected my focus towards pursuing academic excellence and exploring alternative paths to contribute to society. Consequently, I chose the field of journalism. I graduated in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2022, from Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, securing the gold medal for my batch and being recognized as the best graduate among all professional courses. During this time, I contributed articles to several newspapers, actively participated in student politics, and honed my leadership skills in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) under the Ministry of Defense, Government of India. I was appointed Junior Under Officer at my university, received the Best Cadet Award in 2021, and secured an ‘A’ grade in the ‘C-certificate’ examination. Additionally, I was involved with the National Service Scheme (NSS) as a volunteer during my master's studies, gaining valuable experience in community engagement and social responsibility.Internship and ResearchI had the opportunity to intern at the Press Council of India (under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting), gaining valuable insights into its operations. I undertook a research project on "Safety of Journalists Covering Natural Disasters," submitted to the Press Council of India as partial fulfillment of the SIP-2023 program.Furthermore, qualifying for the UGC NET exam twice for Assistant Professor in Mass Communication and Journalism demonstrates my advanced knowledge and eligibility for teaching and research positions. (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, is an Indian exam that qualifies candidates for Assistant Professor positions and Junior Research Fellowships at universities and colleges. It assesses knowledge in various subjects to ensure eligibility for teaching and research roles.)Leadership and Organizational SkillsMy well-developed management, creativity, content writing, photojournalism, communication, and leadership skills were showcased through organizing various events like workshops, exhibitions, theater productions, Republic Day parades, sports events, NCC enrollment drives, Independence Day parades, student elections, picnics, social awareness programs, street plays, annual fests, and alumni meets.
