After a twenty-three year career at the University of Memphis, Rob is enjoying retirement, but remains interested in pursuing opportunities in education and community service. Rob was recognized by students and colleagues as an outstanding innovative teacher and administrator. He leveraged his knowledge of methodologies and subject content with a passion for student service and success to facilitate stimulating classes and presentations. He demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for formulating policies and conveying information through clear and coherent communications. He managed multiple objectives with an infectious work ethic and ability to foster collaborative efforts. Rob's roles at the University of Memphis included Assistant Dean for Judicial Affairs, Assistant Dean for Law School Administration, Assistant Director of the International MBA program, and Director of the College of Arts and Sciences Interdisciplinary Studies. He served as an adjunct instructor offering courses in educational law, nonprofit administration, academic skills, law and religion, and freshman honors. In between stints at the University, Rob served as an administrator with the Catholic Diocese of Memphis at Catholic Charities and at St. Ann Church. He served on, and remains interested in, nonprofit boards and organizations.Since retiring Rob has served as a social studies and study skills instructor/tutor at the Gateway Academy and Learning Lab of Nashville and as a Clinician with the Lindamood Bell Learning Center in Brentwood, Tennessee. Rob also volunteers with Christ the King Catholic Church and Save the Storks. He is a poll worker and notary public.Rob earned a B.A. in Economics from John Carroll University, a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, and an M.S. in Counseling/Student Services from Memphis. He completed coursework in the Memphis accelerated graduate secondary education program. Rob and his wife, Beth Caron Marczynski, a healthcare marketing professional, have been married for over 35 years and are the parents of 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Rob enjoys family activities, reading, music, writing, teaching, cooking, baseball, hockey, and travel.
