Managed a field-expedient surgical unit with 66 geographically dispersed personnel in Korea and the US while simultaneously supervising the operation of an isolation facility during the COVID-19 pandemic, each of which garnered multiple awards. This assignment had a nine month overlap with my previous position that added additional duties and responsibilities. Maintaining these multiple positions at once required extensive organization and time management to accomplish the administrative responsibilities and strategic future planning efforts required. My reputation as a leader led to being personally selected for each of these positions despite two of them being outside of my specialty.

Supervised geographically dispersed staff of more than 100 personnel throughout South Korea, served as consultant to executive leadership and another 40 behavioral health professionals in other organizations, and spearheaded new and transitional behavioral health efforts across the country. Called on for expertise in the field to deliver lectures at two consecutive international medical conferences and provided ongoing mentorship and guidance to a wide range of professionals and paraprofessionals.

Wrote curriculum and instructed military trainees to become certified Behavioral Health Technicians in all branches of the US military and international militaries. Served as team leader and individual instructor for 15 classes that each lasted 4 months with up to 50 students each. Trained in curriculum writing, adult education, individual instruction, and small group instruction. Managed education and personnel files for students and staff under my supervision. Served as a test control officer where I monitored test metrics to ensure accuracy and validity that led to recommendations for updated curriculum or test question rewrites. Selected and sought out to teach into medical management and leadership courses outside of my regular duties. Earned Level 2 teaching certification through accredited Community College of the Air Force.

Managed balance between clinical and military obligations for the staff while delivering additional training to doctoral and nursing staff. Created and managed the staff schedules, additional duties, and monthly documented evaluations for each staff member under my supervision. Oversaw and managed logistical and supply efforts for the unit with a team of three. As a certified TeamSTEPPS instructor, I trained more than 70 staff members and was selected twice to teach German hospital staff at a hospital on the local economy.
