I can fulfill Software Architect, Engineering Manager and Project Manager roles in the development ofproducts ranging from embedded systems to internet-scale applications.For the last two years I have been responsible for managing the requirements and co-definingthe software architecture for two major products--an autonomous driving system anda wide-area monitoring system--for a fast-growing computer vision and machine learningcompany. Previously I assumed similar roles in consulting positions, start-ups that I co-founded,and in companies in the telecommunications industry.I co-founded IoT start-ups when that term was only freshly coined, shaping the productsbased on interactions with early adopters, then co-designing and implementing itstechnical aspects.I can bridge the gaps between domain experts, marketing professionals and technicalimplementation teams in order to reduce the probability of project failure. I help teamsidentify technical risks early on and keep an eye on the project’s marketing priorities.A common technical denominator for me in various project types and sizes has been object-orientedanalysis and design, most of the same fundamental principles being applicable toprogramming languages and frameworks ranging from C on a microcontroller to high-levelapplications in C++, Java and other languages. The result is often maintainablesoftware marked by low defect density and by testability at multiple levels of granularity.My main motivation is to increase the likelihood of project success while delivering on timeand within budget, without undue pressure on the teams. I strive to help maintain ahappy work environment for stakeholders during the project and expect them to be proud ofthe product once it is in the market.I try to make the progress of a project as transparent and measurable as possible so thatmanagement can make timely decisions based on correct live information that is alwaysavailable to them directly.
