Executed experiments, along with three other research assistants, to test the efficiency of the SIMWyPES, a new contamination cleaning technology. This technology is consists of wipes used to clean loose contaminates while performing the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) of a contaminated building. The technology was ex animate by cleaning contaminated surfaces with known quantities of Uranium Oxide, U¬8O3 and Technetium 99, T99, and comparing it to the technology currently used Chicopee Maslin wipes. For this experiment certain certifications were needed to meet FIU’s standards such as: Environmental Awareness: Waste and Chemical, Small Spills and Leaks, and Respiratory Protection. And the Argonne Training Course on Decontamination and Decommissioning was completed.Responsible for Incorporated data from summer 2009 internship into the KM-IT System, this is a repository of information for the D&D Community. Also responsible for continuing the research on technology used for the deactivation and decommissioning of radioactive or hazardous contaminated buildings and facilities. 10 week internship in the Office of Deactivation & Decommissioning (D&D) and Facility Engineering. Responsible for researched and organized a compendium of technology experts sorted by their technologies. This compendium will aid the Office of D&D find gaps and bridges of the technologies needed. Thanks to this internship understanding in how government selects funding recipients was gain, through assisting a D&D prioritization workshop.

Responsible for analyzing the performance of the SensorNet’s Southeastern Transportation Corridor Pilot Viewer (SETCP). The SETCP system consists of a series of radiation detectors, sensors, and cameras that scan trucks in the weigh stations for radioactive materials, autonomously, without the aid of the state trooper. All the data can be retrieve by SETCP interface. This technology was developed to improve our interstates transportation safety after the 911 efforts to secure the borders.
