- During this period, I was posted at Centre of Marine Engineering Technology, INS Shivaji, Lonavla. INS Shivaji, the premier Technical Training Establishment of the Indian Navy trains soldiers of the Marine Engineering Branch and equips them with professional skills and expertise to operate the engineering equipment fitted onboard Indian Naval ships.- Responsible for the smooth conduct of training of 1200 New Naval Entrants. I was responsible for preparation, planning & execution of Weekly Training Programme, administration, office management, workplace management, building maintenance, plumbing, DG Sets and upkeep of Training Equipment worth INR 5 crores/ Facilities of Industrial Training Wing. - Managed a team of 70 (10 direct & 60 indirect) personnel.- Delivered lectures on various topics such as Diesel Engines, HVAC/Refrigeration, MachineDrawing, Fire & Alarm Systems etc. and attained 300 hours of active training.- Took Engineering Pre-Commissioning Training classes for 10 officers and 100 soldiers of the Shivalik class Naval Frigates and under construction indigenous aircraft carrier. These classes were delivered online through video conferencing during ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.- Facilitated continued training during Covid-19 pandemic, promoted stringent adherence to safety protocols & guidelines and successfully completed tenure with zero positive cases.- Carried out the duties of Accounting Officer for the Naval Engineering History Society Fund (a non-public fund). It is a small fund with average monthly fund value of 3 lacs. Fund got cleared by annual audit team without any observation/ remarks.- Once in every two weeks carried out the duties of DMCPO who is responsible for the safety, security and emergency management of the entire organisation for that day.

- I was posted at Indian Naval Work Up Team, Kochi. It conducts operational sea training of all personnel of Indian Naval & Coast Guard Ships. The training includes enhancing skilled level of ship’s crew in operation & maintenance of equipment, risk assessment & mitigation plan, WHS policies, emergency management & adherence to Check off lists, SOPs. - Conducted safety audit of fire & alarm systems, firefighting systems and machineries safety devices.- Undertook ergonomics checks of compartment’s lighting, ventilation and noise level.- Delivered lectures to ship’s engineering crews on following: - 1. Safe Engineering Practices 2. Preparation, operation & maintenance of machineries, firefighting and damage control equipment 3. Calibration & test equipment- As a Ship Coordinator, mediated with 30+ internal stakeholders, assisted routine deliverables, collated training feedback and provided administrative assistance to 60 specialist instructors.- Undertook scrutinization of Check Off lists, SOPs for operation of various machineries, special evolutions such as fueling, towing, helicopter operations, entering/leaving harbour & process improvement. Audited books & records.- Training engineering crews to follow check off list, SOPs, Operational Risk Management, inculcating use of PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment). - Organised various events & meetings.- Conducted practical training session for ship’s crew for setting up of camp for disaster management.- Implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Audited Planned Preventative Maintenance & Predictive Maintenance for their compliance. - I was awarded Commendation by Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command for dedication, commitment & professional competency.

- Headed a team of 60 (25 direct & 35 indirect) technical experts at a naval platform, supported a team of 350 specialists.- Prioritisation, WHS policies implementation, allotment of right job to right person, budgeting, customer satisfaction, vendor management, asset management & timely accomplishment of the jobs in VUCA driven environment, maintaining morale & motivation of crew members. Identification of all non-compliance equipment & processes. Implemented solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks & prevent injury.- Ensured 100% operational availability of the ship from engineering side due to which ship was able to accomplish international border patrol for 3 months.- Ensured operation, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, upkeep & troubleshoot of various engineering equipment such as DG Sets, Boiler, HVAC/ Refrigeration, Centrifugal Pumps,Fire Fighting Systems, LT Panels, Motor Starter Panels, Plumbing, RO Plant etc. was done correctly & efficiently by supervisors & technicians of my organisation.- When I joined the ship, there was an issue of high compartment temperature which adversely affected weapon firing capability & habitat ability of the ship. With my analytical thinking approach I brought down temperature from 29 ⁰C to 23 ⁰C. For this achievement I was awarded Commanding Officer’s Proficiency Award.- Preparation, planning & execution of jobs to be undertaken during 6 months short refit of ship.- Oversaw Logistics & spare management. Competency in storage/preservation of equipment/spares including servicing during storage.- Ensured timely preparation & dispatch of engineering returns to various Indian Naval agencies.- Liaisoning with Naval Dockyard, OEMs, civil agencies & vendors for maintenance, troubleshoot, overhaul & repair of machineries.- Negotiation & collaboration with other departments for man power allocation.

- Supervised a team of 15 technical experts at a naval facility, supported a team of 257 specialists.- Responsible for the operation, maintenance, defect identification & rectification, upkeep, inspection and trial of day-to- day multimillion machineries such as Diesel Engines, DG Sets, HVAC/ Refrigeration Plant, Fire & Alarm Systems, Fire Main Systems, Fire Pumps, Diesel Driven Fire Pumps, RO Plants, Hydro-Pneumatic Systems, Hot Water Generators, LT Panels, Motor Starters, VFD Starter, Plumbing, SCADA (IMCS), UPS, blowers, air compressors, Gas Turbines (25 Mega Watt), Gear box, Controllable Pitch Propeller, Shafting, Workshop Machineries and other significant controls. Ensured regulatory compliance to regulations and safety standards. Worked towards continuous improvement of Workplace Health and Safety.- Calibration of machinery parameter measuring instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature gauges & safety cut-outs/ relays.- Brought fire under control in Spare Parts Store Compartment in one of the real incidents at sea saving spares costing crores of rupees.- Ensured the ship to successfully accomplish 2 months offshore deployment for International Fleet Review at Sydney, Australia & 03 months continuous offshore deployment to countries such as Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and Indonesia- Keeping track/ replenishment of all the fluids/ gases such as diesel, petrol, lubrication oils, engine coolants, refrigerants, grease etc. on day-to-day basis as these are crucial for ship's operational availability.- During one of the incidents at sea, while doing fueling with a tanker ship one of the two engines tripped. Prompt action by me saves the ship from colliding with the tanker ship in turn saving precious life & government property.- I was awarded Commendation by Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command for dedication, commitment & professional competency.

- During this period, I was posted at Overseeing Team, Ship Building Centre, Visakhapatnam.- Administered a team of 20 QA/ QC civilian experts for the QA/ QC compliance during installation of engineering equipment and system pipes onboard under construction ships for the Indian Navy.- Member of audit board of Ship's Welfare Fund.- Undertook factory trials of diesel generators which are to be installed onboard under construction barges for the Ship Building Centre, Visakhapatnam at a civil firm in Ahmedabad.- Also, lead a boat consisting of 5 armed personnel for providing security to Ship Building Centre, Visakhapatnam.

- I was posted at a naval facility having a total crew of 70. - Independent Diesel Generator & HVAC, Chiller watchkeeping duties.- Independent Main Engine (Russian M 15 Gas Turbine) watchkeeping duties. These engines & propulsion system costs crores of Indian Rupees.- Undertook repair, maintenance, troubleshoot of various machine such as diesel generators, air Conditioning & refrigeration plant, fire pumps, fire fighting systems, air compressors, RO Plant, electrical panels, motor starter panel, hydraulic systems, hydro-pneumatic systems, gas turbine, gear box, shafting & propeller etc. - Main propulsion watchkeeping duties during leaving/entering harbour of the ship, during special evolutions at sea such as fueling, towing, replenishment at sea (RAS) etc.- Survey, demand & identifying of suitable machinery/ obsolete machinery/ spare from Naval Store Depo.- Oversaw replacement/installation of gas turbines, gear boxes, engine controls, rudders, high pressure air compressors, system pipes, hull plates during 2 years refit of ship.- Carried out the duties of technical head of the engineering department during off working hours. He is the only person, responsible for safety, security and operation of all engineering compartments and machineries during off working hours, when ship is in harbour.- Member of the specialist group who directs the fire fighting & damage control team during emergency.- Brought, flooding under control in Aft Engine Room Compartment in one of the real incidents at sea saving precious life and material.- Carried out duties of Security Chief-in-Charge of ship, who looks after the security management of the ship.- I was awarded Commendation by Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command for dedication, commitment & professional competency.
