Life-Music-Ocean EnthusiastAnchored in teaching, research and practical building, my work deals with diverse tasks, linking science to the built environment, as well as aspects of social and ecological sustainability.I'm a founding partner of Najjar-Najjar Architects, an integrative practice where passionate professionals share their excitement for design and research. Founded in 1999 together with my brother Karim Najjar, our studios are based in Vienna, Beirut and Stuttgart.My engagement in academia is oriented towards practice and research, and includes a large portion of enthusiasm.Why Architecture? I believe in an architecture of ideas, where aesthetics is determined by performance. Architecture must be human centered, and while relating it to issues and needs of our daily lives, we seek for an architecture that stands in its own right. Just like the colors and forms of a painting & music, spaces and light can touch us for unknown reasons.
