Dr. Ramesh C. Chitrakar is a trade, investment and policy development expert with over 30 years experience designing, managing and promoting development projects focused on the areas of trade and investment, foreign investment, regional cooperation, policy formulation, institutional strengthening and development, and capacity development and training. He has worked in a variety of research projects as a project manager and team leader and has gained extensive experience working in Nepal and some part of overseas countries – UK, the Netherlands, Norway and Ghana. Dr. Chitrakar provided leadership to one of the pioneer Economic Development Research Centre in Nepal and developed linkages both with government and private sector enterprises and private sector bodies in Nepal (i.e. FNCCI, CNI, Chamber etc). He was responsible for an overall planning & management of the Centre, which consists of about 70 staff, including strategic direction, human and financial resources management, procurement and property management. He provided necessary direction in terms of planning, coordinating and conducting research projects and trainings/seminars/ workshops programmes of the Centre. He also acted as an advisor to the Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Commerce and Supplies through a number of related projects.
