• Checking aggregate and granular material gradation as per OPSS specification (Granular A, B select sub-grade etc.) and using it in designing different fill for backfilling and subgrade preparations in roadworks.• Responsible for soil index properties including soil classification, grain size and moisture content.• Actual compaction and density tests in the field using nuclear densometer and preparation and interpretation of soil moisture characteristics by performing tests in lab: Proctor Test (soil – moisture density relationship)• Calculation and data reduction from laboratory test results, report preparation for aggregate, concrete, and soil samples.• Calibration of equipment for soil, aggregate and concrete tests. Keeping records and maintain periodic calibration charts.• Concrete testing as per CSA (Compressive strength, slump, air-meter) and verification of final data as per specification.• Preparation of granular material compaction reports (Engineering fill, low strength U-fill, backfill, sewer compaction, subgrade)• Site inspections of rebar (spacing, binding, and other quality) for mat foundations, bridge decks, footing, abutment wall• Provide training to new staffs on testing engineering materials including soil, concrete, and aggregate. Use of Lab database software for keeping track of samples and reports. • Using and maintaining equipment: concrete saw, gyratory compactor for Superpave, Marshall compression equipment for asphalt, concrete compressive strength testing equipment• Preparing and testing of soil samples for moisture content, particle size distribution including hydrometric testing, plasticity index (plastic and liquid limit), unit weight • Preparing and testing of soil samples for proctor, permeability, and California Bearing Ratio• Testing and sample preparation of concrete: compressive strength (CCIL certified), rapid Chloride penetration, air void systems, • Testing and sample preparation of aggregate: gradation, micro deval abrasion, specific gravity (BRD, MRD), Los Aneles abrasion, asphalt coated particles, flat and elongated, soundness using Magnesium Sulphate, freeze and thaw and other tests required for Ministry of Transportation Ontario as well as other clients (City of Toronto, Toronto Transit Corporation, City of Vaughan) works. • Testing and sample preparation for hot mix asphalt: splitting, extraction, Marshall, BRD, MRD, Superpave mix design.• Field technician for plastic concrete tests: air/ slump/ temperature/ cylinders and beams casting for tests. (CCIL certified)• Reporting of Lab works for aggregate, soil, and asphalt to the supervisor in timely manner. Preparation of formats for reporting. Use of computer software Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

• Participate in pre-bid meeting at City of Brampton, City of Vaughan, City of Markham, City of Caledon, City of Wellington, City of Oakville, and Whitby and visit the construction sites.• Carefully read the bid documents, drawings and specifications and make note for special provisions.• Send emails to sub-contractor inviting them to provide quotation and follow up them by calling. • Collect quotations from different sub trade and prepared the estimates 7 projects of different cities.• Submit the bid documents in different cities.

I monitored progress of construction works and take corrective actions if necessary. I organized monthly meeting of field staffs and prepare monthly activity, target, and safety plan.
