Central Services Refresh Programme’s (CSRP) Post-bind Submission (PbS) is an additional channel for submission of ACORD EBOT & ECOT premiums and claims accounting into Central Services. The primary objectives of the channel are to make transactions into London Market more efficient and reduce market effort around London-specific accounting transactions systems and processes and to enable the potential eventual retirement of the existing London submission channels i.e., paper, A&S and eAccounts. AGC&S not only gave me opportunities to swim through the length and depth of the major modules i.e., Underwriting, Claims, and Accounts and the subsidiary modules i.e., Name & Address, Diary, Enquiry, and Reporting but also gave me immense opportunities to imbibe GENIUS to a significant extent. Having joined at a crucial time of the UK Go-Live and being an active participant, I was given the responsibility to single-handedly work on various modifications developed to tailor GENIUS for the UK operations of AGC&S. The initial two weeks of my tenure at IBM was spent in understanding the business associated with www.moneysupermarket.com and the website in particular. During this period, I was assigned tasks to prepare Test Cases for a couple of Live issues (Base jobs) and prepare Estimates, System Test Plan, Requirements Matrix, UAT Plan and Test Cases for a small piece of project. These assignments offered me a good understanding of the Processes and Procedures that were in place within the Test Team of www.moneysupermarket.comOn successful completion of these assignments, I was given the responsibility to plan and execute a number of Base jobs and then moved on to work independently on the planning of Timebox 10 and Timebox 11 associated with ‘Money’ channel of www.moneysupermarket.com. At Moneysupermarket.com, a Timebox is an amalgamation of a number of Base jobs but is smaller in size compared to a Project. After joining Skandia in August 07, I was given the responsibility to be the only Test Analyst for their Quickwins project, “QW593 – Surrender Payment methods and outputs” which involved working on Life plans, Pensions and Bonds. Being the only Test Analyst assigned to the project gave me the opportunity to work in close proximity with the Business Users, the Development and Deployment teams. The developed piece of work was properly tested 8.25 mandays before the estimated test effort and was successfully deployed onto Live environment. Only a couple of negligible post deployment issues were reported. Following is an excerpt from Skandia’s PMO and BPR Intranet pages :"Quick win reference 593 – Surrender Payment Methods and Outputs was large enough to be managed as a project in its own right. QW593 was successfully deployed on schedule in December enabling surrender payments to be paid by direct credit and all of the related documentation to be generated. I had spent a short time training and familiarizing myself with the Genius system and won laurels for being able to quickly learn and apply Genius knowledge in my attempts to verify that XL Global UI works in line with the Genius Underwriting system. I was handed the role of a Mentor for a team of testers from Xchanging’s Gurgaon (India) office in September 2004.
