Reviewed existing equipment maintenance and repair record to assess remaining life or modifications needed to extend its useful life. Further consideration for cogeneration was explored using combustion turbines for thermal or electrical load following utilizing average annual temperature from 30 year ambient data. Monthly, seasonal and annual fuel consumption, steam generation, power generation, exportable thermal energy was evaluated for optimum financial benefits. Help set up specifications, technical evaluation guidelines for procurement, engineering design documents for permits, simulated entire cogeneration plants to meet specific thermal and electric demands and explore financial benefits to sell surplus power to local utility. As a system engineering group leader was responsible for development of design concepts to overall power plant system detail design. Developed standardized fossil power plant designs ranging from 60MW to 150 MW. Process and instrumentation diagrams [P&ID’s], general arrangement and detail physical piping drawings were prepared for each.
