Execution of Transmission projects - Materials Management, Commercial, Project Monitoring, Project Management, Construction.

Since 2002 I have been successfully discharging responsibilities in the various departments of Transmission Business Group of BHEL, viz. Materials Management, Planning and Monitoring, Project Management and Commercial, and Execution. Transmission Business Group is presently involved in design, engineering, manufacture, procurement, erection and commissioning of equipment and control systems (Transformers, reactors, Instrument Transformers, Isolators, Breakers, Lightening Arrestors, PLCC, Control and Relay Panels, Substation Automation Systems, Auxiliaries, Structures, Conductors, Insulators ) for substations of 220KV, 400 KV, 765 Kv AC Power Transmission Systems, Compensation Systems, and HVDC Transmission Systems , with a market share of about 32 %.(Turnover in the year 2011_12:- Rs. 800 Cr; After joining BHEL, Industrial Systems Group Bangalore in 1978, I have been involved in leading team of engineers for execution of Projects for Control Systems and Equipment for various industries viz. Steel, Power, Non ferrous industries. The responsibility involved erection and commissioning of wide range of equipment (viz. Motors of large ratings, Control Panels, Thyristor Converters, PLCC's, MCC's, LT Switchgears, HT Switch gears, HT Substations and Switchyards, SCADA systems , Automation systems, Process control models) within a tight project completion schedule. I led team for Erection and Commissioning of Plants at Bharat Aluminium Company, Expansion of Bhilai Steel Plant from 2.5 MT to 4 MT, Modernisation of Bhilai Steel Plant, Commissioning of Sunflag Iron and Steel Co., Commissioning of C&I systems for Kaperkheda Power Plant, Indian Ordinance Factory at Bhandara and Ambernath, Indian Aluminium factory at Hirakud.

assignments:- :I was deputed to Siemens Germany for training in state of the art Progammable Logic Controllers. Deputed to Libya for evaluating the performance of ECCO, a joint venture company between , Govt of India and Govt of Libya, to enable the government to take a decision regarding extension of the joint venture agreement, which had expired. Visited Ethiopia for review of projects under execution there.
