I am a teacher but I hated going to school as a child. Growing up, I was always a good student which translated into getting good grades, making good choices, and never questioning the system. However, I felt like I spent so many years being invisible, just doing what was told and never finding the traction to blossom into ME!Montessori attracted me with its deep-rooted philosophies of independence, self-confidence, true love for learning and the sense of community. So much so, that I walked away from a budding career in IT, to become a Montessori Educator. I was driven to create the environment that I wished I had for myself growing up as a child!After more than a couple of decades as a Montessorian, I take pride in the fact that I work hard on presenting the best possible learning environment for each child while allowing themselves to connect with each other and the world they inhabit; and to be confident of their unique place in their community.Being a mom, I started my own Montessori school, when I could not find one for my son where I lived at that time. In the years since, I have worn many hats as I multitasked in my business, developing it from a small school run on a leased space with a revenue of $200000 to a big school run in an independently owned property with a revenue of over $1M.
