• UAV controller tuning (multicopter and fixed wing concepts) using Ardupilot and PX4 autopilot software, to ensure stability against external disturbances like wind gusts, vibrations and good tracking performance.• Worked on managing vibrations on large drones due to airframe/propeller interactions through vibration damping, notch filtering and FFT analysis. • Team lead for development of 3D obstacle avoidance and collision free path planning algorithms for swarm of drones as a part of technology demonstration.• Developed path planning optimization algorithm on MATLAB and python for swarm of drones to maximize flight time.• Hands on experience with flight log analysis, crash analysis to ensure robust flight control. • Hardware in the loop, Software in the loop environment development and flight testing. • Developed precision landing algorithms using fiducial markers for multicopters.• Implemented computer vision based real-time object detection algorithms. • Briefly worked on fixed wing (VTOL) aircraft design, manufacturing and controller tuning.

Application of "Incremental Approximate Dynamic Programming"(iADP) controller (a Reinforcement Learning based intelligent adaptive flight controller) to the Cessna Citation Aircraft.In detail, project tasks include• Advancing the iADP method to handle practical design and implementation aspects, such as sensor noise, computational time delays, uncertainties in actuator dynamics etc,. • Perform a complete design for a manual control function (pilot input command), from formulating design specifications, architecture design, control law implementation in Matlab/Simulink, to validation and verification in highly realistic off-line and real time desktop simulations.

Gust load alleviation Controller tuning and testing for Wind Tunnel Experiment on flexible wing of AircraftIn detail, the tasks include• Extension of an existing aeroelastic wing simulation environment for different gust excitations.• Implementing different gust excitations (sweep, 1- cos/Dryden gust) for wind tunnel campaign.• Tuning of a gain scheduled proportional-integral (PI) controller considering actuator constraints and robustness criteria.• Testing of gust load alleviation controller in a wind tunnel experiment.
