Serves as Battalion S4 charged with primary logistics planning for the 563D Aviation Support Battalion in support of the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade in the l01st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Assists the commander with equipping a battalion of over 750 Soldiers and over 290 pieces of rolling stock and other equipment valued at over $55 million. Monitors, forecasts, directs and reports for logistical support (both supply and service). Responsible for managing the battalion's $950,000 ground budget and the strict enforcement of the Command Supply Discipline Program to ensure the battalion is ready to deploy worldwide. Advises and informs the commander on budget, lateral transfers, FLIPLs, maintenance, and all classes of supply.• Prepared the battalion to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 09-11. He ensured the battalion had the appropriate equipment on ground in Afghanistan in order to execute and validate the aviation support battalion concept.• Just prior to deployment, he fielded 465 M4 rifles to the battalion, as well as supervised the LBE transfer, and the establishment of the battalion rear and forward property book.• Selected to deploy early to Kuwait in order to move the brigade's Command Critical and Sensitive Items (CCI/SI) from the port of Ash Shuyaibah, to Ali Al Salem Air Base, then onward moved to Bagram, Afghanistan. • Served as the OIC of the Ali Al Salem portion preparing over 140 pieces of CCI/SI for air movement to Afghanistan. • Selected to be the accountable officer at Kandahar Air Field (KAF) responsible for over 3,900 ASL lines valued over $90,000,000. While at KAF, he added over 2,000 ASL lines totaling 350,000 parts; 20,000 receipts processed; 358,000 quantity processed, and 351,000 quantity stored.
