Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, I have overall accountability to manage the firm’s data as well as the strategic development of AI and Business Intelligence capabilities.My accomplishments to date include rolling out:* A LLM prompt based Gen AI tool using Langchain to query RAG vectorized lakehouse data with GPT 4 to support marketing strategy and campaigns * An in-house financial planning tool using a Monte Carlo simulator to aid the firms' clients in month to month dynamic spending plan towards achieving their financial goals* Migrating the firm’s data assets from on-premise infrastructure oriented to support vendor software applications to an Azure cloud based data lakehouse environment that is vendor agnostic. * Offering a CRM tool to the firm using Microsoft Dynamics by providing and integrating financial and household data from the PureFacts portfolio management system for use into the CRM backend environment.With one hand in senior management leadership and the other as a hands-on Data Architect, I designed the architecture of the cloud based data lake, built data models to host AI ready data in the canonical data layer and led a dedicated data team to leverage the data factory and synapse to move and transform the data so as to position the data for easy consumption for GenAI uses, as well as for the reporting needs of business users on the semantic and reporting layers of the data lakehouse.

I overhauled the organization’s troubled Data Governance program and transformed it into a successful operational state to serve the Insights Driven objective by providing strategic direction and establishing the strategy, vision and roadmap to drive delivery which included developing the policy, standards, processes as well as defining and implementing a Data stewardship structure including assigning membership and escalation processes with a focus on stakeholder relationship management. This in turn provided a foundation to generate quality certifiable data on an azure cloud based data lake for advanced analytics consumption.

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, I was responsible for leading Toronto's Pearson Airport to become a data centric driven operation by rationalizing information, processes, applications, systems, and people across multiple business lines and IT functions. I was accountable for the design and execution of the Enterprise Data Strategy and ensured existing industry best practices are utilized.My vision was focused on the strategic use of all critical data assets for Pearson Airport in a manner that will provide insight into the airport's information needs and capabilities to enhance both the operational efficiencies and identify opportunities to generate revenue.My accomplishments have included building capabilities for advanced use of data and analytics to support strategy, operations, and performance measurement for optimal decision making across the airport. Through successful predictive analytical simulations, the airport is better able to plan for the allocation of resources to tackle day to day operational challenges in a manner that is proactive. The new analytics capabilities have also uncovered broader insights into the passenger spend behaviour which led to improved campaign strategies to generate additional revenue.I am a strong advocate of collaboration amongst airports where I championed a joint partnership with other Canadian Airports to execute an innovative pilot project to capture the baggage journey across airports using blockchain with a focus on reducing the incidence of delayed baggage. I founded and headed a department that provided overall direction for Master Reference data management and delivery for the entire organization. My work was primarily focused on collaborating with business line heads on ensuring core functional data is in place for both operations and insights, in order to support the bank’s growth objectives.I influenced key and strategic business units to adopt an enterprise standard for many of the bank’s critical data assets for consistent reporting which was also foundational to building a dedicated enterprise zone within the Hadoop based data lake as part of the bank’s overall big data ambitions for advanced analytics.I devised data governance strategies, implemented data catalogue solutions, as well as the development and oversight of the operationalization of data glossaries, guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards

I led departmental business development through proposal development cycle, creating technical content, development of presentation material, participation in proposal presentations, and engaging executives in defining next phases of projects to position the department to become established as a centre of excellence for analytics to support major risk OSFI regulatory requirements such as BCBS239 for Basil III compliance and other business reporting needs.

I was accountable for data management functions which include data architecture and modeling, data warehousing, business intelligence and metadata management. Projects included anti money laundering for wire transfers, regulatory liquidity risk assessment and reporting, and CRM Salesforce data integration.
