About Rabiyah Amina
Associate level researcher interested in exploring child development and community development programming development questions for the Black, Indigenous American and Latine communities. I am interested in influencing change to educational and social policies by contributing to program development and evaluation of education and wraparound services to include, but not be limited to, early childhood education, maternal health and wellness, food and housing instabilities and insecurities. I focus on highlighting, exploring and resolving problems and issues in the Black family community to influence change and long overdue equity. I am especially dedicated to influencing change in public education that addresses educational equity by highlighting practices and literature that address the whole child, opposed to biased achievement standards that further disparage Black, Brown and female assigned children. With a passion for social issues, including public education, family and children issues, female and maternal health, Black children and male assigned children to corporal punishment and juvenile detention and delinquency remediation, and human rights, I continue to enhance my research, analysis, and program evaluation skills of social programs and issues. Foremost, I believe that strong, accurate data is a major component to the accountability necessary to monitor responsible public service facilitators, and to identify problem areas that need improvement. I began influencing social policy by working closely with constituent populations in communications and program evaluation in public school districts, providing policy analysis. I strive to use quantitative and qualitative skills to provide researched and practiced improvements in policies and programs surrounding all social policy issues, especially in child development.
