Apollo Power (www.apollo-power.com) was founded in May 2014, driven by the vision to make electricity available to everyone, regardless of location.Headquartered in the Technion, one of the world’s leading science and research institutions, the Apollo Power team was funded by top angel investors for the first three years. The company developed the first flexible, low-cost solar film solution on the market using a technology based on patented bottom electrodes and complex active materials.The Apollo Power team is led by a unique group of chemists, engineers, academic researchers, and experts in the field of solar energy.In October 2017, Apollo Power went public on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE: APLP) and raised another $2.5 million in funding.We currently have six pending patents in varying stages of approval, all innovated by our unique approach to renewable energy and solar technology.

Following the acquisition of Hanita Coatings by Avery Dennison, my title changed to R&D and Innovation Director. In addition to heading the Research and Development team at Avery Dennison Hanita (Israel), my role now includes extensive interaction with the different Avery Dennison R&D teams around the world. Responsibilities still include development and launch of all new products and all academic and industrial collaborations of Avery Dennison Hanita on a national and international basis. Responsibility for securing funding for collaboration from the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) and a variety of international and bi-national funding agencies (Horizon 2020, BIRD Foundation, etc.). Head of a growing group of group of 20 talented physicists, chemists, chemical engineers and material scientists, 8 with PhDs. Direct interaction with suppliers and customers. Intensively involved in business development, strategic planning, M&As, etc.

Vice President for Research and Development and Head of Innovation Unit at Hanita Coatings. Overall global responsibility for development and launch of all new products based upon advanced metallization, coating and lamination processes. Responsibility for all academic and industrial collaborations on a national and international basis. Responsibility for securing funding for collaboration from the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) and a variety of international and bi-national funding agencies (Horizon 2020, BIRD Foundation, etc.). Direct management of a talented group of 17 physicists, chemists, chemical engineers and material scientists, 6 with PhDs. Direct interaction with suppliers and customers. Intensively involved in business development, strategic planning, M&As, etc.

Responsible for all international collaboration at Tel-Aviv University’s Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and head of the university’s program for establishing the “XIN” joint research center together with China’s top academic institute – Tsinghua University from Beijing. Designated Co-Managing Director of the XIN Center when established. The position touches on international business development, fund raising, IP management, international legal issues, student mentoring and cultivating ties with industry.

Vice President for Research and Development and member of Senior Management at Caesarstone - a global public company traded on Nasdaq (CSTE). Overall responsibility for running company-wide R&D for over 40 diverse markets worldwide. Responsibility for generating projects and leading new product development through the complete cycle from initiation to full-scale production. Overall responsibility for generating new technologies, modifying production methods and introducing innovative materials. Responsibility for 3-year technological plan. Direct responsibility for over 20 R&D personnel directly reporting to me, with matrix management of employees in other departments. Responsibility for multi-million dollar R&D budget. Responsibility for new line construction implementing proprietary technology. Close collaboration with Marketing and Operations. Support of Marketing and Sales in resolving customer questions and complaints. Responsibility for IP (patents) and for new standard accreditation. Responsibility for collaboration with academic and industrial partners and experience in submitting project proposals to the Office of the Chief Scientist. Proven track record of release of a multitude of new products with tremendous success in the market.
