About Ramon Cestero Md Mba

Dr. Ramon Cestero is Chief Medical Officer/Co-Founder at Advanced Surgical Retractor Systems, Inc. and the inventor of the TITAN CSR® surgical retractor. He is also a Professor of Surgery at UT Health San Antonio specializing in trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and medical device development. He has used his years as an academic trauma surgeon and active duty Navy combat surgery experience to design surgical retractors that improve patient care. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco – East Bay in 2003, followed by fellowships in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California. Dr. Cestero is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.From 2003 to 2013, he served as an active duty Navy surgeon and during his last three years served as Department Head, Combat Casualty Care Research at the US Naval Medical Research Unit in San Antonio. He has completed multiple Marine Corps and Army combat surgical deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan and served as the Chief of Trauma for the NATO Role 3 Combat Hospital in Afghanistan in 2012. Currently, he serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder at ASR Systems and is a Professor of Surgery at UT Health San Antonio.
