Dr. Cestero is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.From 2003 to 2013, he served as an active duty Navy surgeon and during his last three years served as Department Head, Combat Casualty Care Research at the US Naval Medical Research Unit in San Antonio. He has completed multiple Marine Corps and Army combat surgical deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan and served as the Chief of Trauma for the NATO Role 3 Combat Hospital in Afghanistan in 2012. Currently, he serves as the Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder at ASR Systems and is a Professor of Surgery at UT Health San Antonio.
