In my career of 41 years in the oil industry, I had the opportunity to meet and work with the most interesting people from all origins and nationalities, whether in field operations, engineering, defense and aerospace industries, and academia, over four continents. From all I learned and to all I am indebted.EE at heart, my activities encompassed field operations, both onshore and offshore, circuit design for high temperature operation, electronic component technology, regulatory compliance, reliability and system design. I also animated engineering communities of practice and particularly enjoyed giving presentations and lectures in engineering schools. I always tried to create a vision for the teams I managed, and perhaps the best achievement was a scalable and modular power, telemetry, and control system around and Ethernet backbone using UDP and TCP/IP protocols, years before hearing about Industrial Ethernet, IoT or edge computing.It is time for me now to enjoy my grandchildren and travelling with my wife. I am also resuming the hobby of my youth: building HiFi systems, now with my own designs for very low intermodulation distortion.If the opportunity arises, I would also enjoy providing specific advising or training in topics in my areas of expertise, as detailed over my cursus, publications, and patents. C.- Contributed papers and presentations to conferences such as ESREF (component reliability), EUPACK (packaging), HITEC (high temperature) and ESREL (safety and reliability).- Contributed to clubs with industrial partners in the military, avionics, and automotive to launch technological research plans for high temperature electronics in Europe (precursor to HITEN).
