· Provide advanced, specialized accounting work in the maintenance of accounting and financial records in an automated system.· Verify the amount of money and contents of valuables for each new inmate; resolves any discrepancy· Create inmate account records by posting the account information into the automated Inmate Accounting System· Reconcile all funds and deposits to money drawer; disburses account balances and prepares reconciled settlement sheet at the end of each shift including all transactions performed; pulls Intake/Money Valuables Form from active file and retrieves valuables from designated locker· Verify names and property location numbers from inmates’ armband; documents by financial report all cash and non-cash transactions· Maintain general and subsidiary records by posting entries, making adjustments to accounts, reconciling against other records and preparing automated reports· Prepare and processes specialized payment requests including disbursement to individuals and other agencies; analyzes and monitors all detainees’ intake paperwork and compares with inmate daily balance report· Provide detailed analysis ensuring all detainees’ accounts have been properly credited on each shift· Research information on inmate inquiries and complaints; initiates and responds to corrective action promptly in cases where complaints are validated; and respond in writing to correspondence notifying inmates of findings.
