Works as a behavioral health consultant to physicians by providing specialized care to patients experiencing psychiatric distress. • Conduct Behavioral Health Assessment to determine a provisional diagnosis and recommend a safe discharge plan of care for patients. • Assess patients experiencing distress and provide provisional psychiatric diagnosis utilizing DSM V. • Conduct thorough suicidal risk assessment. • Effectively communicate plan of care recommendations to physician, nurse, case manager, and other essential personnel.

Works as Psychiatric Response Team (PRT) Clinician providing care within various emergency departments, medical floors throughout the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. The PRT Clinician is part of a mobile team required to travel to all system hospitals. • Intervene with patients who have identified psychiatric needs or are identified at risk of harm to self or others. • Provide psychiatric assessment and intervention to suicidal, homicidal, psychotic patients with new or pre-existing mental illness at all 10 Memorial Hermann campuses, including all medical floors and emergency rooms.• Create dispositions to meet the safety and welfare needs of patients, ranging from outpatient referrals to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization and involuntary commitments. • Provide services to children, adults, older adults, and all populations across the socio-economic spectrum in need of psychiatric intervention.

• Provided social work and case management services to clients in drug/alcohol rehabilitation program, and clients in convalescent care center. • Facilitated multiple life skills groups and psychosocial process groups.• Involved in making referrals to community agencies throughout Houston area for homeless and chemically dependent populations.
